John Coppeler Recognized for 30 Years of Service on Board
Press Release Date: May 14, 2021
Bellevue, OH – John Coppeler was recognized for his 30 years of dedicated service as a board member of First Bancshares and First National Bank. As a member of the boards, John has played an integral part in guiding the company from $64mm in total assets to its current size of over $283mm. When he came on the board, the bank was operating three full-service offices, and now in August 2020, the eighth office was opened to serve the Perkins community. During his time on the board, John has served as chairman of several of the bank committees and currently serves as chairman of the First Bancshares board. In addition to his guidance in this capacity, he has also served as legal counsel throughout these 30 years. Sharing the focus of the entire board to remain an independent, community bank, he has been instrumental in guiding us along the legal highways to maintain this mission set by our forefathers at the time the National Bank Charter was issued in 1875. John continues to practice law with the firm of Flynn, Py and Kruse, with his office located in downtown Port Clinton. He and his wife, Ellen, reside on Catawba Island. Thank you John.
